Desire Pearl: Everything You Need to Know Before Your First Visit

The essentials

Desire Pearl is a couples-only, clothing-optional, all-inclusive resort located in Puerto Morelos on Mexico's Caribbean coast. It sits next door to its sister property, Desire Riviera Maya, approximately 30 minutes south of Cancun International Airport. The resort has 152 rooms across 10 room categories, 5 restaurants, 5 bars, 7 theme nights, and a dedicated clothing-optional Au Naturel Pool. Pearl is the quieter, more refined of the two Desire properties.

Location and transfers

Desire Pearl shares its Puerto Morelos location with Desire Riviera Maya. The two resorts are adjacent and connected, with guests welcome to visit either property for dining and drinks. The transfer from Cancun International Airport takes approximately 30 minutes. Shared shuttle and private transfer options are both available.

Room categories

Desire Pearl offers 152 rooms across 10 categories:

• Standard Room. Comfortable base category with garden or pool views
• Premium Room. Upgraded furnishings and preferred location
• Master Suite. Spacious suite with separate living area
• Penthouse Passion Suite. Top-floor suite with panoramic views
• Mansion Swim-Up. Ground-floor Mansion suite with direct pool access
• Mansion Jacuzzi. Mansion suite with private in-room jacuzzi
• Mansion Royal Suite. Spacious Mansion accommodation with ocean views
• Mansion Royal Oceanfront Suite. The finest room at Pearl: oceanfront jacuzzi, butler service, heated bathroom floors

The Mansion is Pearl's VIP wing. Mansion guests receive butler service, a private lounge and beach area, premium minibars, and priority reservations. It represents the highest tier of accommodation across both Desire properties.

Restaurants

Five dining options are included in the all-inclusive rate:

• Aphrodite. International cuisine. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The main dining venue in an open-air oceanfront setting.
• Pearl Restaurant. International fine dining. Dinner only. Reservation required. Rotating five-course tasting menu.
• Suki. Asian fusion. Dinner only. Shared with Desire Riviera Maya. Fresh sushi and sashimi daily.
• Pizzeria. Wood-fired artisan pizza. Afternoon poolside service.
• 24-hour Room Service. Full in-room dining menu available around the clock.

Pearl has fewer restaurants than Riviera Maya, but guests can dine at Riviera Maya's additional venues, including Arrecife, Eros, Sahlo, Kahlo, and the burger and coffee bars.

Bars

Five bars serve the resort:

• Melange Bar. Central social hub, open morning to late night
• Swim-Up Bar. Poolside cocktails at the main pool
• Jacuzzi Lounge Bar. Evening drinks in the elevated jacuzzi lounge, au naturel atmosphere
• Couples' Lounge Bar. Intimate bar within the private couples' lounge
• Disco Bar. Late-night drinks at the disco during theme nights

All drinks, including premium spirits and cocktails, are included.

Theme nights

Seven themed evenings run weekly:

• Monday: Purple Seduction. Pearl's signature opening night in elegant purple
• Tuesday: Between the Sheets. Lingerie and robes
• Wednesday: Boop's Boudoir. Black and red pin-up style
• Thursday: Subs and Doms. Latex, leather, and masks
• Friday: Country Neon. Neon western with UV body paint
• Saturday: Desert of Desire. Creative original outfits
• Sunday: Gents and Maids. French maid outfits and sharp menswear

Purple Seduction on Monday is unique to Pearl; you will not find it at Riviera Maya. Participation in theme nights is encouraged but never required.

The Au Naturel Pool

Pearl's clothing-optional area centres on the Au Naturel Pool. It is quieter and more intimate than Riviera Maya's Eden section, reflecting Pearl's overall character. The clothing-optional atmosphere is relaxed and natural. As with all clothing-optional areas at Desire, "optional" genuinely means optional.

The vibe

Pearl is for couples who want something more refined than Riviera Maya, or first-timers who prefer a quieter atmosphere. Despite having 152 rooms (more than Riviera Maya's 110), the design creates a more intimate feeling. The pace is slower and the guest community tends to be slightly more experienced. Strictly couples-only, 21 and over.
