Two pools, two entirely different experiences

Temptation Cancun has two pools and understanding the difference is essential. The Sexy Pool is the main event: DJ booth, topless-optional, maximum energy. The Quiet Pool is exactly what it sounds like. Most guests alternate between both depending on their mood and their hangover.

The Sexy Pool

This is the beating heart of Temptation. By noon, the DJ is playing. By 1pm, the crowd is building. By 3pm, it is a full party. The topless-optional policy means you will see a range of comfort levels, from bikini tops firmly in place to fully embracing the freedom. Nobody judges either way.

Securing your spot

The prime spots are the daybeds closest to the DJ booth and the swim-up bar stools. If you want either, arrive before 11am and leave a towel. The water loungers in the middle of the pool are first-come-first-served and they go fast on foam party days.

The foam parties

Foam cannons, loud music, and controlled chaos. The foam is surprisingly thick and you will be covered in it. Wear a swimsuit you do not mind getting soaked and leave your phone in a waterproof pouch. The energy peaks around 3pm and winds down by 5pm. It is absurd and wonderful.

The Quiet Pool

The Quiet Pool is where you recover. No music, no DJ, no foam. Just sun loungers, a swim-up bar, and the sound of the Caribbean. Many couples spend their mornings here and migrate to the Sexy Pool after lunch. Smart strategy.

Survival tips

• Hydrate relentlessly: the sun and alcohol combination is aggressive in Cancun. Drink a glass of water between every cocktail.
• Sunscreen every two hours: you will forget. Set a phone alarm. The worst souvenir is sunburn on day one.
• Eat lunch: the poolside grill serves until 4pm and skipping it is a mistake you will feel by dinner.
• Pace your drinks: the all-inclusive bar is generous and the cocktails are strong. Starting at 11am and going until midnight is a marathon, not a sprint.
• Bring a waterproof phone case: essential for the foam party and useful for pool photos.

The nighttime programme

After the pool party winds down, the entertainment shifts to the main stage and eventually to Bash nightclub. The progression is pool party to dinner to show to club. You do not have to do all four every night. Pick your battles.
